Starting the first time

After successful installation, you can start yammi via the KDE menu (it should be installed under "Multimedia" -> "Audio Player") or by typing "yammi" in a shell (Tip: if you encounter any problems or want to know what's going on: start yammi in a shell and have a look at the output that yammi creates on the console).

On first startup, yammi will create some files (usually, in ~/.kde/share/apps/yammi) to store your song database, preferences settings and logfiles. Before you start scanning your harddisk for songs, you should edit the preferences (Configure -> Settings...) and set the paths to the location of your song collection.
