Help translating Yammi
You are more than welcome to contribute to the Yammi project by providing a translation
or improving an existing one. The following simple steps should get you started.
Start a new translation
-
Download the file "yammi.pot" from CVS, using
this link.
-
Save the file with the suffix ".po" and a name corresponding to the language (eg. "it.po" for italian).
-
Open the file with KBabel
and start translating the entries.
(To avoid two people working on the same language, please send a mail to the
yammi-developer mailing list
to notify the developers on which language you
are working.)
-
When you are (more or less) finished, send the file to the
yammi-developer mailing list
to have the translation included in the next released version and immediately available
in CVS.
Improve an existing translation
-
For example, if you want to improve the german translation,
Download the file "de.po" from
this CVS folder.
-
Open the file with KBabel
and start improving the translation.
(To avoid two people working on the same language, please send a mail to the
yammi-developer mailing list
list to notify the developers on which language you
are working.)
-
When you are (more or less) finished, send the file to the
yammi-developer mailing list
to have the improved translation included in the next released version and immediately available
in CVS.
